According to a Gulf News report updated on 5 March 2026, the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security (ICP) announced on 4 March that overstay fines are waived for people who could not leave the UAE because of airspace closures and flight suspensions. The waiver covers fines incurred on or after 28 February 2026 and applies to departure permit holders past their grace period, visit and tourist visa holders whose stay has lapsed, and holders of cancelled residency permits whose departure was hindered. - Other emirates: use the ICP smart services platform at smartservices.icp.gov.ae. Go to Public Services, then File Validity, pick Residency or Visa, and enter your UID, file number, Emirates ID or passport number with your date of birth.
- The result shows your file number, Unified ID, visa status, and issue and expiry dates.
