When I opened the MOFA service page, it described a service for staff of missions accredited to the UAE who hold a consular card, with the application completed on the MOFA site or app and the licence then obtained through RTA Dubai. In other words, it is not the general route for an ordinary resident. If you are not diplomatic staff, start with your emirate’s licensing authority or an approved driving school instead.
Practical points before you enrol
- Ask the driving school to confirm in writing which licence you currently need to hold and for how long. The dubizzle guide mentions that heavy vehicle categories can require time on a lighter licence first.
